How to get to Birmingham Airport

The easiest way to get to the airport is by train. If you are travelling from London, you can take the Gatwick Express to Gatwick Airport station. From there, you can take a direct train to the airport station. If you are travelling from Manchester or Leeds, you can take the train to Birmingham New St station. From there, you can catch a bus to the airport. If you are traveling from other major cities, the Gatwick Express can be booked as a private hire service.

Take a train to the airport

The Gatwick Express offers comfortable, direct, non-stop train services from London to Gatwick airport. It has two services that depart from London Gatwick Airport: the Gatwick Express and the West Coast Express. The Gatwick Express departs every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes to reach Gatwick Airport. The West Coast Express departs every 20 minutes and takes 35 minutes to reach Gatwick Airport. The Gatwick Express is £15 each way and the West Coast £33 each way. Both tickets can be purchased online.  If you do not want to take the Gatwick Express, you can take a taxi to the airport, but it will be expensive. You can also take a train to London Victoria station, and from there a taxi will cost around £25. If you are visiting family or friends, you can take a train to Birmingham New St station, from where you can catch the airport bus for Birmingham Airport Taxi.

How to get from Birmingham Airport

If you are staying at the airport, you can catch the Birmingham Airport train from the station behind the terminal building. The train takes around 45 minutes and costs £9 each way. If you are catching the train from outside the airport, you can catch a bus from the airport bus station.  There are two types of bus service to the airport: the ABI Airport Express, which departs every 15 minutes, and the ABI Airport Shuttle, which departs every hour. The ABI Airport Express costs £5 and the ABI Airport Shuttle costs £10. Both services run every hour. If you are staying at the airport, you can take advantage of the free shuttle service.  If you are taking the train, you can also buy a day ticket that allows you unlimited train travel in the area for £12.

Get an Uber from Birmingham Airport

If you are travelling with a group of people or have a lot of luggage, you can use Uber to get to the airport. The service costs £11.50 each way, and once you and your party have arrived at the airport, a signpost will direct you to the pick up area. The driver will meet you at the airport, which means you won’t have to brave the busy terminal. If you are travelling alone, you can request a one-way trip to the airport.  Uber is available at the Birmingham International Airport terminal 1 and terminal 2. You can also request an Uber pickup at the Birmingham New Street Station. If you are travelling to other airports, you can use the Uber app to book a car to take you to your next destination.

If you are staying at the airport, or if you don’t have a lot of luggage, you can use the free airport bus service. The bus service runs every half hour and takes around 40 minutes. The bus stops outside the terminal building, by the main car park. Visit the shops at the airport

If you are travelling with a lot of luggage, you can check in at the airport shops and check your bags in. If you don’t want to stay at the airport, you can take advantage of the airport stores and shop for souvenirs. There are many shops in both terminals, including DFS, Debenhams, House of Fraser and Selfridges. You can also shop for souvenirs at the Birmingham Mail Centre, which offers free delivery.  There are also restaurants and bars in the airport, which you can visit while you wait to board your plane. The food is good, and it is a great way to relax and unwind before you head home.
