Anime Series Like Nekopara

Kashou is the son of Japanese confection makers, but has recently moved out to open his own patisserie. While unpacking, he finds two cat girls that his family has been raising hiding in boxes. He initially wants to send them back, but after they begged to stay, he ends up keeping them as long as they help around the shop.

This was made lovingly for fans of the visual novel, but anyone with a healthy love for wholesome café work or cat girls can enjoy it. If you are looking for anime recommendations like Nekopara, then head on down below.

For Fans of Cat Girls

Cat Planet Cuties

One day, while attending a memorial service, Kio meets a beautiful cat girl named Eris. She is from the planet Catian to learn more about humanity. After their encounter, she decides to live with Kio. However, there are a number of those who seek to capture Eris.

Both series are classics for those who enjoy their cat girls. However, while the visual novel of Nekopara may have been more ecchi, the anime is not quite on that same level. Cat Planet Cuties, however, has plenty of ecchi if you were missing it.

Stray Cats Overrun

Takumi goes to school and comes home each day to work in his sister’s cake shop. However, one day his sister brings home a girl who looks and acts like a big cat. It turns out she is a runaway who only adds to Takumi’s daily chaos.

While Stray Cats Overrun has less cat girls in it, it is a show about a guy that is constantly pestered by a huge harem not unlike Nekopara. It just has the one cat girl really, but the same level of chaos.

Omamori Himari

Yuuto’s only real worry is his severe cat allergies. However, one day he is attacked by a spirit for the sins of his ancestors. He is thensaved by a sword-wielding cat girl. It turns out, his ancestors were demon slayers and she is their protector.

Both shows are about a guy that has just struck on on his own, but ends up with cat companions in his life. While Omamori is a more action-oriented show, it is still about a girl acting like a cat.

For Fans of Fetish Outfits

Blend S

Maika is a person with naturally bad luck, although much of that comes from her mean-looking eyes. These eyes have since prevented her from gaining part-time employment in order to fund her dreams of studying abroad. However, one day she meets a man named Dino who runs a very special café. Inside, the waitresses all adopt very specific personas for the customers, and Dino wants Maika to be his sadistic-type girl. However, despite having the eyes for it, Maika isn’t a sadist.

Both series are about cute girls working in a café. However, in Nekopara, there are tropes but they are used classically. Blend S makes fun of those tropes by having girls play them as roles in the cafe. Regardless, it is some nice slice of life anime to sooth yourself to.

Meddlesome Kitsune Senko-San

Nakano is a salaryman that works for a company that greatly exploits him. He returns to home each day exhausted, and one day, returns home to find an 800-year-old fox girl has invaded his home. She cooks, she cleans, and she states that she will heal his exhaustion with her occasionally questionable care.

Both shows feature girls with animal ears in costumes. Both shows end up pretty wholesome and often very funny. There is also that vague ecchi vibe in both of them, but it is not quite as tempting in Senko.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid

Miss Kobayashi is a programmer that lives alone in her apartment. However, one day a giant green dragons ends up on her doorstep and transforms into a women in a maid outfit. Apparently Kobayashi had gotten drunk one night and ended up saving this dragon. Now, dragon Tohru intends to repay her debt through housework.

Nekopara enjoys putting its cat girls in cute costumes when they are working, but Tohru really just dresses in her maid costume on her own because Kobayashi likes maids. Regardless, it is cute animal girls in costumes doing silly things. However, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is more just pure comedy.

For Fans of Wholesome Café Work

Is the Order a Rabbit?

It’s the positive attitude and energy that Kokoa Hoto exudes that allows her to become friends with anyone in just a few seconds. This is her story as she moves away from home to attend school and ends up working in a café for room and board. Of course, by very nature, she befriends everyone she comes in contact with.

Do you enjoy café shows because of how wholesome and comforting they are? Then this is definitely for you. Both shows have very little plot other than cute girls doing cute things. However, Is the Order a Rabbit is definitely more moe in design.

Polar Bear Café

Located near the local zoo, the charismatic polar bear Shirokuma decided to open his eponymous cafe. As a popular spot for humans and animals alike, it is a good place to relax after a hard day.

Both shows are about animals working in a café. They show off human characteristics, but they also show off animal characteristics. The difference is the animals in Polar Bear Café aren’t as anthropomorphized into humans. They are just animals that can talk. They also…aren’t sexy.

Working

Souta Takanashi has a fondness for cute things, so when the cute and small Popura Taneshima asks him to work at Wagnaria, a family restaurant, he can’t turn her down. Little did he know about all the unique personalities that also call Wagnaria their place of employment.

Both shows are about people in a work environment occasionally doing work, but mostly messing around. However, while Working has plenty of comedy and cuteness, it does hit you with that dose of drama every now and then as it follows the lives of several employees.
