Batman/Catwoman Wedding Spoilers Have King ‘Pissed’ & ‘Excited’

WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Batman #50, on sale July 4 by DC Comics

With the ending of this Wednesday’s Batman #50 being spoiled, writer Tom King has admitted he’s both “pissed” and “excited” at the same time, expressing solidarity with those who took issue with the spoilers.

The New York Times released an article Sunday morning spoiling the fate of Batman and Catwoman’s wedding, which incensed a lot of fans online who followed the engagement religiously since Bruce Wayne popped the question to Selina Kyle in Batman #24. However, King is still urging fans to pick the issue up to garner answers to the questions that will linger in the wake of the highly-anticipated ceremony. He has advised fans to also mute spoilers online if they can.

Im pissed about things and excited about other things. I have no idea how to comment on anything without spoiling everything.

Batman 50 is still out Wednesday. I’m incredibly proud of the issue; I hope you pick it up. You have questions; the answers are there.

Ugh. Batman 50 spoilers are now out there. Ignore/avoid them (or try to) and read the issue.

King’s series since the proposal gradually built to this wedding by having Catwoman become a regular guest-star. Fans saw Batman and Catwoman going on a double-date with Superman and Lois Lane; the Bat and Cat’s relationship being tested when Batman and Wonder Woman spent over 10-years stuck together in another universe; and Booster Gold accidentally creating an alternate timeline (nicknamed Batpoint) where Bruce never became Batman.

We also saw Issues #48-49 bringing the Joker into the fray, angry he wasn’t given an invite, which led to a confrontation with both Batman and Catwoman. DC Comics also released Batman: Prelude to the Wedding one-shots, focusing on different members of the Bat family (Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood and Harley Quinn) as they prepared for the nuptials as well.

Batman #50 goes on sale July 4 from DC Comics.
