In 2015, Netflix viewers learned what comic book readers already knew – Kilgrave, aka the Purple Man, may be the most twisted and disturbing villain in Marvel Comics history. The former D-list bad guy rose to prominence while sinking to new depths of depravity as he tormented Jessica Jones, both in the comics and on screen, firmly establishing himself as the reluctant superhero P.I.’s arch-nemesis.

It comes as little surprise, then, when fans learned that the twisted villain is next in line to make Jessica’s life hell in the upcoming Marvel Legacy arc by co-creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos.

Since he was last defeated by Daredevil, Kilgrave has escaped custody and nobody — not even S.H.I.E.L.D. — knows where he’s been, or what he’s planning.
