Ever since the first Star Wars film was released in 1977, the series inspired millions of fans in so many ways, from literature, film and comics — it goes without saying that Star Wars is not simply a cultural phenomenon, but it is also one of the most popular Sci-fi and fantasy universes ever created. So unsurprisingly, with a deep and rich universe full of diverse characters, when it comes to cosplay, Star Wars is one of the most common and recognizable inspirations for some of the best interpretations of any franchise that aren’t superheroes.

Whether it’s May 4th as in “May the Fourth be with you”, Wonder Con, Comic-Con or the more frequent release of Star Wars films that are gracing the big screen every year, Star Wars fans have more reason to pay tribute to one of the greatest Sci-fi sagas of all time. While we got obvious skimpy representations of Princess Leia in her slave outfit or Padme’s white cropped top suit from Episode 2, some other fans have managed to recreate some iconic characters that you wouldn’t usually associate with being attractive. This inspired us to put together 15 of the most unusually steamy cosplay that every Star Wars fan should appreciate.
15. DARTH TALON
Darth Talon is a Sith character that appears in the Dark Horse published Star Wars: Legacy series. She’s an apprentice of Darth Krayt — the new Dark Lord of the Sith — and is one of main of antagonists of Cade Skywalker, a descendant of Luke Skywalker in the comic book series which is set 126 years after the film Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Despite being a character from the comic series Darth Talon has become hugely popular with cosplayers. One of the best recreations of the evil Twi’lek Sith was through a collaboration between the model Courtney Black and photographer Mark Greenwalt for his cover project. She was one of the first models involved in his “I Will Fear No Evil Project”, and the results were amazing.
The bounty hunter Boba Fett first made an appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but he was briefly added to the original film in the remastered version. The mysterious character and his aura of coolness helped the bounty hunter achieve cult status amongst Star Wars fans.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise then that Boba Fett is one of the most cosplayed characters from the Star Wars universe, and you wouldn’t have to look hard to find at least one Bob Fett at a Star Wars or comic-book convention. However, you will have a hard time trying to find a Mandalorian as attractive as LeeAnna Vamp’s recreation of the iconic character in the above image.
Hera Syndulla (codenamed “Spectre 2”) is a Twi’lek rebel from the Star Wars: Rebels animated television series. She was referenced in the Star Wars: Rogue One film, in a scene where General Syndulla is called for over the speaker system. Hera has become one the most popular Rebel characters in the Star Wars universe, leading cosplay fans to do a fantastic job of recreating her in life.
Although it seems unlikely that we’ll see a live-action version of the character beyond the Rogue One reference, fans would surely be happy if she turned out as great as Feyische’s version of the rebel pilot. Feyische has done an admirable job of giving the animated version a certain attractive humanity that doesn’t quite get across in the TV series.
For many fans Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is still a sore point, while it does have its fans, it is still widely considered on of the worst films in the entire saga. However, the Sith apprentice Darth Maul has a huge following of fans and Ray Park, who played the character in the movie, helped provide one of the most memorable lightsaber battles in the entire saga.
Myst’s very own female version of the character, Lady Maul, is a fantastic and eye-catching recreation of the character in female form. It’s evident that a lot of time, love and attention has gone into the Maul character, as she successfully manages to show the character’s dangerous and aggressive demeanor whilst bringing a certain sexiness to the character too.
The Imperial Royal Guard was an elite order of protectors assigned to Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious). Silent and armed with a Force Pike, they were an intimidating presence in the Star Wars universe. Adding to their sheer presence, the Imperial Guards wore crimson robes and helmets and were considered the most deadly and capable soldiers in the entire Imperial Military.
Their intimidating appearance may not make the most obvious choice when aiming for skimpy cosplayers, but Sarah Bella certainly helped make it work with what she’s done here. Yet somehow she still seems to be a deadly force to be reckoned with that could give any Jedi or Rebel Commando a run for his money on the battlefield or anywhere else or anywhere else in the universe.
The Imperial Officers made their first appearance in the franchise during Star Wars: A New Hope, as central villains and authority figures in service of The Emperor and the entire Galactic Empire. They are portrayed in the series throughout the movies, TV series and comics as being a fully totalitarian regime and brutal dictatorship that has a xenophobic hatred for nonhumans.
With that kind of representation on the big screen, it would be easily assumed that making an Imperial Officer of the Galactic Empire seem attractive in any kind of way would be an almost impossible task. Adrianne Curry, a model, reality star and host of Stan Lee’s web series Superfans is well-known for her eye-catching cosplays, not only managed to bring the Star Wars evil officer to life but she even makes even the most hardened rebel have a need for being in her custody.
Kylo Ren is a dark force wielder, a former student of Luke Skywalker, and one of the new main antagonists in the Star Wars universe for the new movie trilogy that began with Star Wars: A Force Awakens. He’s a great new villain that’s sort of taken Darth Vader’s spot as the new enemy working for an even more powerful master, the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke.
Like Vader before him, since the release of The Force Awakens, fans have been cosplaying as Kylo Ren in countless numbers. Yet, few have made the evil Sith as appealing as Kayla Ezell, who was inspired to create something different for Star Wars after seeing the film. We’re quite confident that Supreme Leader would approve Kayla’s interpretation of Kylo Ren.
C-3PO is one of the most recognizable characters in the Star Wars universe, and along with R2-D2, he is usually at the top of many sci-fi fans favorite robot list. He’s appeared in every live-action Star Wars film including Rogue One. However, as loved as he is, C-3PO is probably not the first character that comes to mind when thinking of steamy cosplay, but model Alysson Averell has certainly helped give the droid an appealing new look.
Photographer Joey DeMarco has made a good career for himself shooting various models cosplaying comic book, video game, and movie characters using an impressive body paint technique. Although it would have been interesting to see a how the whole look would have worked with C-3PO’s head, the body paint manages to pull off the minor details well, adding an almost 3D look to the metallic paint.
The Sith Lords have come in many forms that are familiar to fans of Star Wars, as many characters have been tempted to the dark side, but very few of them can be considered sexy or hot. As they give into their dark side their appearance — notably their eyes and skin tone — sometimes changes for the worst.
Yet Heather1337 has managed to embrace her dark side and make her portrayal of a Sith Lord very appealing, while also giving the impression that she would sooner Force choke you to death before you had a chance to lay on some cliché pick-up lines on her. The images were taken by photographer David Love, a man well-versed in shooting some of the most iconic characters from the comics and the big screen.
The Nightsisters are a tribe of Dark Side Force-wielding Dathomir Witches they made their debut on screen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series but they have been a presence in the Star Wars universe since 1994 when they were introduced in The Courtship of Princess Leia by Dave Wolverton. The witches possess mysterious Force skills that are referred to as magicks, but with their distinct looks, the witches aren’t especially the most attractive characters.
Miss Sinister who is known as one of the best cosplayers in the world not only managed to recreate one of the more well-known Nightsister witches, Asajj Ventress, beautifully and proved the characters can have a certain amount of danger and sex appeal that can’t quite be represented well on the animated series.
Even those who aren’t fans of Star Wars know who Darth Vader is, as the character has cemented himself as being one of the most iconic and recognizable villains in all of pop culture. Star Wars’ own dark knight is often heralded with having one of best “rise and fall of a hero” stories in cinematic history. From comic conventions to Halloween parties, Vader is also one of the most cosplayed characters of all time.
So when body painters RCC Creations put their own female body paint twist on the character, it’s as eye-catching as it sounds. The photographs (which also featured a female Stormtrooper) were taken by Smokey Creek Images and captured the models in a sultry yet brooding style that fits the character perfectly.
As already mentioned, the droids C3PO and R2-D2 are two of the most popular and recognizable characters in the entire Star Wars universe. The scene where they are making their way through the desert planet of Tatooine to reach Jabba the Hutt’s palace, as part of a plan by Luke Skywalker to rescue Han Solo is instantly memorable.
In the above image, cosplay models Adamae (as R2D2) and Oniksiya Sofinikum (as C-3PO) pull off such a fantastic recreation of the scene that one almost has to do a double take before you release that it’s actually two models pulling off a surprisingly tantilizing recreation of the iconic scene in Return Of The Jedi. As Star Wars fans here at CBR we can confidently say that these really are the droids we’re looking for.
The Stormtroopers are the most recognizable soldiers in the Star Wars universe, and like many other characters on this list, they are also one of most cosplayed characters too. There’s even a popular dance group called Boogie Storm that once featured on Britain’s Got Talent that wears accurate representations of the outfit whilst performing their routines. The Stormtrooper’s look is as iconic as the Star Wars series itself.
However, it was Courtney Cruz’s dance routine at the Devil’s Playground Burlesque and Sevilla Nightclub that got many fans hearts racing when she performed a routine in the Stormtrooper uniform at the 2015 Comic-Con. Cruz who is the founder of Devil’s Playground Burlesque, became an overnight sensation and a viral hit, as the show went on to become a regular event raising money for charity and a huge hit with fans ever since.
Chewbacca has been a favorite character in the Star Wars universe since his appearance in Star Wars: A New Hope as Han Solo’s friend and co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon. He’s a male Wookie warrior, smuggler and a resistance fighter that fought in the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil war.
Chewbacca is also a favorite of LeeAnna Vamp too, a cosplay model and actress well-known for her appearances at Comic-Con. In addition to her appearances in film and cosplaying as Boba Fett, one of her favorite outfits is the “Wookini”. The costume is her own original take having never seen a female take on the Chewbacca character. We’re not sure if a female Wookie would look like this in a bikini, but one can dream.
The Ewoks made their first appearance in Star Wars: Return of The Jedi and although there’s a lot of fans that like to compare them to the infinitely unpopular Jar Jar Binks, the little bears definitely have a large fan base. The little furry creatures had no effect on the film’s popularity either, as in a recent Sky TV show called The Greatest Sci-fi Films In The Universe it was voted above The Empire Strikes Back by fans as the people’s favorite. So there’s definitely some love for the Ewoks out there among fans.
As debatable as the Ewoks popularity is, there’s no doubting that Jessica Nigri’s take on the furry creature is certainly a memorable one. The incredibly popular and professional cosplayer made a name for herself with fans through her own take on popular video games, movie and comic book characters, made and stitched the costume herself.
