Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s assets means that the company will own a portion of BOOM! Studios if the deal is finalized. In 2009, Disney purchased Marvel Comics to take advantage of the publisher’s supply of readily available assets. Fox did something similar in June when it purchased a minority stake in BOOM! to get first look rights for adapting its comics.
