News Kurozuka's Takashi Noguchi Launches New Shinsengumi Rebellion Manga
Manga about locally famous delinquent challenged by mixed martial artist debuts November 14

This year's 22nd issue of Akita Shoten's Young Champion magazine revealed on Tuesday that Takashi Noguchi will launch a new manga titled Shinsengumi Rebellion in the magazine's next issue on November 14. The manga will have a color opening page and the first chapter will have 47 pages.

The manga will focus on Hiroyuki, a delinquent famous in his local area, who is challenged to a fight by a mixed martial artist.

Noguchi adapted Baku Yumemakura's Kurozuka supernatural romance novel into a manga, which in turn inspired an anime in 2008. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Crackle released the anime in North America. Noguchi also created a spinoff of the late Mitsuteru Yokoyama's classic manga Babel II called Babel II: The Returner in 2010. The series ended in Young Champion on January 10, and Akita Shoten published the manga's 17th and final compiled volume (pictured at right) on February 20.

Noguchi launched the Ultra Red manga in Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine in 2013, and ended it in 2015. Akita Shoten published three compiled book volumes for the series.
