News Voice Actor, Sound Director Toshihiko Nakajima Passes Away at 55
Aichi native voiced characters in Sakura Wars, Gundam, Hajime no Ippo





Voice actor and sound director Toshihiko Nakajima passed away in a Tokyo hospital on September 8. The cause of death was not revealed, but he had been fighting an illness for some time. He was 55. A funeral will be held for close family members.

Nakajima was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1962. He is known for voicing characters in Sakura Wars 2, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger. He was also an actor as part of 21st Century Fox's theatrical troupe in Tokyo, and he played Master Nakajima in the "Sakura Taisen Kayō Show" musicals.





His major anime roles include Paranoia Agent's Masami Hirukawa, Transformers: Cybertron's Land Barret, and ToHeart - Remember my memories' Gengorō Nagase. In addition, Nakajime voiced many minor characters in Inuyasha, as well as various roles in the Detective Conan television series and films, Doraemon films, and Crayon Shin-chan films.

Nakajima made his debut as a sound director in the 2006 anime Kemonozume. He also served as sound director for anime such as Inazuma Eleven GO, Infinite Stratos, and Chaos;HEAd.
